Research visit Dr. Emma Davies from Oxford Brookes University

1–2 minutes

Last week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Emma Davies from Oxford Brookes University (UK) to the Behavioral Science Institute at Radboud University. It was a wonderful and inspiring week, filled with fascinating conversations about the future of alcohol research, the opportunity to share our work with one another, and, of course, the chance to show Emma some of the highlights of beautiful Nijmegen.

We also organized a symposium, for which we welcomed researchers from across the Netherlands, Belgium, and the United Kingdom to the university. It was an inspiring morning filled with knowledge sharing and discussion about alcohol prevention. We explored various approaches, including the use and marketing of NoLo products (non-alcoholic and low-alcohol alternatives), the early detection of alcohol-related problems in healthcare, and temporary alcohol abstinence challenges, such as IkPas (Dry January). The morning concluded with a fascinating panel discussion, during which our speakers and the audience came together to exchange views and discuss key issues in this field. We continued these conversations over lunch.

Many thanks to Emma for her visit and for the wonderful exchange of ideas. We thoroughly enjoyed your visit and look forward to seeing you again soon!
